Since 1970, Elder Care Services has been driven by volunteers. Each year, over 800 individuals give thousands of hours of service in mission-critical areas such as delivering meals, serving as companions, and helping at events. Meals on Wheels Delivery: Elder Care Services’ Meals on Wheels (MOW) program delivers over 100,000 hot, nutritious meals to Tallahassee seniors each year. Over half of these meals are personally delivered to over 500 frail, homebound seniors and provide much more than nutrition. In many cases, Meals on Wheels volunteers are the only face these seniors may see all day. Throughout the year, over 13,000 volunteer hours support this critical service.

Elder Day Stay Volunteer: Volunteers make an impact through music therapy, arts and crafts activities, companionship and more at our Elder Day Stay adult day care center.

Senior Volunteer Program: For active seniors age 55 and older, you can become a Foster Grandparent and mentor school-aged children, offer socialization to a senior through our Senior Companion Program, or transport seniors to their doctor’s appointments as a Retired and Senior Volunteer.

Attend an Event.Participate in one of Elder Care Services many fundraisers throughout the year to help us continue to deliver quality care to our community’s seniors. Whether you choose to deliver a meal as one of our Big Wheels, enjoy our traditional German Oktoberfest, or adopt a senior through our Elder Elf Program, you will be helping us fulfill our mission.
